Cycle racing is a hugely rewarding sport no matter what discipline you choose. Peloton Junior Racing Team has chosen a wide range of disciplines that our boys can try, then work out what they excel in, and then focus on that discipline. The basic training principles are the same across all disciplines and the cross over is welcomed by coaches as it keeps the sport interesting.

Peloton Junior Racing Team’s Mountain Biking for winter has a wide spread of racing mixed over three disciplines, XC, Flow & DH. The XC races are club level and will be used as training races for fitness and skills. The DH event later in the year keeps the boys challenged and their eye in, as there is less events of this type over the year. Peloton Junior Racing Team will be focused of the Rocky Trail Flow Series this winter as a state level competition. This racing exposes the boys to a higher level of competitive and will raise their fitness and skills sets.

This year Peloton Junior Racing Team has also added some road racing into the program. All on closed circuits.

The cycling career pathway normally starts with mountain biking and leads to road racing. Peloton Junior Racing Team is leading the way in junior cycling with this addition into their program. Road Racing also has many disciplines, with Criterium Races, Time Trials and Road Races. The program we have set for winter covers each different discipline.

Similar to the Mountain Bike program the road program focuses on local club training races to get the form and experience, then leads into three national events for the boys to test themselves and work out where and how they need to improve. At the end of the winter season the boys will fight it out in their age groups in the NSW State Titles.

Peloton Junior Racing Team has a great pathway program for cycling and we are excited for the season ahead.
